The Thomas Alva Edison Kiwanis Science and Inventors Fair has been a tradition at Fort Myers Kiwanis for the past 56 years. The club volunteers their time and energies, providing judges and volunteers at the annual event and a mans a stand selling items and raffle tickets as a fund raiser. Funds are used to sponor trips to the Regional and National science fairs for winners.
Thomas Alva Edison Regional Science & Inventors Fair
The event is held annually during Edison Pageant of Light celebration. The projects and inventions are first judged and then open to the public to view. Approximately $900,000 in college scholarships are awarded at the Regional Fairs and the winners of the Regional Science Fair go on to State and International competitions where additional scholarships are available.
