The heart of Kiwanis is community service. Here are some of the great projects by various Division 19 Kiwanis clubs.
Over 200 people came out on an early January morning to participate in the Calusa Bug Chase, 5k run or walk through the beautiful Calusa Nature Center grounds. Over $3,000 was raised to support Bringing Up Grades programs and otherb community service projects in Lee County.
It was a beautiful morning when Fort Myers Kiwanis Club members gathered at Edgewood Elementary Academy for Kiwanis World Atlas Day. Fourth grade children gathered at the library and received their atlases. Excitement, joy and smiles on faces of children made our day! Best part was discovery of places, planets and cultures during questions and answer time after receiving their atlas.
Kiwanians from four clubs (Fort Myers-Edison, Metro-McGregor, Harney Point and Bonita Springs YP) and some of their significant others, family and friends along with Key Clubbers joined together to gift backpacks for about 50 children staying at the Abuse Counseling & Treatment center for victims of domestic violence and their children.
